About IDM Youth Services
IDM Youth Services Inc. has been providing staffed residences for children and youth in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Island Health, and Designated Aboriginal Agencies for over twelve years.
IDM Youth Services Inc. also provides services to adults through our Supported Living Program funded by Community Living of British Columbia.
IDM Youth Services Inc. currently has 10 worksites that is supported by over 100 employees.
IDM Youth Services Inc. has a diverse range of employees with different skill sets and backgrounds – all with a dedication to this work. IDM Youth Services Inc. provides comprehensive training for all their employees including but not limited to trauma-informed practice, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, medication administration and management, documentation and reporting, etc.
Using a hybrid of strength-based, trauma-informed, therapeutic and restorative philosophies employees support persons served in various domains. These domains include behavioral support, health and hygiene support, recreation, social skills, life skills, legal support, education, vocational training, cultural identity and more. This provides a daily program specific to the needs and goals of each person served.

Group Home Program
The agency’s group home program provides trauma-informed services, in a safe and supportive environment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for children and youth who have experienced abuse, maltreatment, and/or have behavioural or mental health needs and cannot safely reside in a family setting within the community.
The agency’s group home program supports any goals for family reunification or other family or community placement plans with an the goals being consistent caregivers and placement stability for our persons served.

Supported Living Program
The agency’s supported living program supports adults in their desires, goals, strengths, needs, and any health and safety issues in their own living environment. The amount of support hours varies on a person-by-person basis.
Supported living services are generally long-term but change in duration, intensity, location, etc. as the needs of the persons served evolve.
